“It's That Time Of Year Again! ”
It is time to register your children for America’s pastime: Little League Baseball and Softball. From the time they could walk, your children were practicing their throwing, catching and running. Now, as a Little League player, they will don their clean uniform (at least for the first game), take the field and play against other children who are just as excited as they are to be out on the field. Of course, we cannot forget about the best part of the season: the end of the season party and the trophy!! Along the way, your child will learn about a game that has been around since the 1860’s and he/she will make many new friends. Most importantly, he/she will learn how to win, how to lose and how to cooperate with others on the same team. These lessons transcend the game, as they are valuable life skills that all kids need to learn as they grow into adolescence and ultimately, adulthood.
The 2009 WALL Board of Directors is proud and excited to serve the families within our Little League boundary. We aim to make this a fun and enjoyable season for players, coaches and parents alike. If you would like to volunteer your time or services to this wonderful community organization, feel free to email me or another board member. We welcome your input and we will appreciate any time you have to donate to WALL.
On any given spring evening, over half a million children in the US and around the world can be found on the dusty mounds, grassy fields and dirt lots of a Little League field. More than four million people playing or volunteering to this organization each year makes Little League a national institution and provides a rite of passage into America’s quintessential pastime.
Have a great season.
